FROM CONCEPT TO REALITY

Collins has designers to aid distributors and cosmetology school owners in school design, wherein we commonly provide: (1) a school plan that integrates the desired services with the available space; (2) an optimum traffic-work flow throughout the education facility; (3) specific equipment plans, consistent with owner preferences and the general expectations for public facilities; (4) and possibly suggestions to improve services-profitability. The plan may include recommendations relative to plumbing and electrical needs, but our designers are not licensed architects or engineers and the company does not assume any responsibility or liability as regards state, federal, or local building codes. Licensed architects, contractors, plumbers, and electricians should be engaged for these specific needs. This is an expensive service, but Collins is pleased to absorb the cost of this service to school owners who then purchase their new equipment from our company. After initial discussion and consultation, Collins requires a design retainer before actual design work commences. The retainer, paid directly to Collins, is $1.00 per square foot, but in no case less than $500.00. The retainer is then rebated to the school owner by Collins at the rate $5.00 per $100.00 purchase of new chairs, dryers, or bowls ... plus $15.00 per $100.00 purchase of new stations, desks, retail displays, nail tables, and pedicure equipment. The rebate is made upon presentation of the paid distributor or direct invoice.

PLANNING

(1) Identify the planned instructional activities, their scope and scale, and determine the general space/equipment requirements for each; (2) Define significant architectural details such as load-bearing walls, doors, windows, plumbing, and electric; (3) Develop space plans to meet your specific needs, ensuring proper flow and function to comply with known work space requirements; (4) Provide a detailed equipment plan with layout that includes equipment, plumbing, and electrical requirements; (5) Development of custom equipment if and where needed.

QUALITY

QUALITY

Collins knows that you need durable, long-lasting fixtures for your school, so we use only cabinet-grade panels, name brand countertop-grade high pressure laminates, laminated drawers with full extension ball-bearing drawer slides, and long-life hinges. Our craftsmen combine their know-how, these quality materials, and your customer-approved drawings, to create beautiful, premium-quality cabinetry that will reliably serve your school for years.

COMMUNICATION

After the space and equipment planning is done, we submit engineering drawings to the customer that details sizes, features, and finishes on every custom fixture, and frequently all fixtures. This final customer review and approval gives all the parties assurance that the new equipment will be as planned/expected. Additionally, these detailed drawings give your contractor a preview of what is to be installed which saves on plumbing, electrical, and installation costs.
